Good week this week! Last Tuesday, we were supposed to have a district activity, but it totally fell through :( We were going to polish and wax our cars as a district, and so Elder Price and I drove all the way to our stake center (20 minute drive) to do it because that's the building we are assigned to. So, the Elders started their laundry later than they should have and the Hermanas had set up an appointment for right during the activity. This is hard to explain, but long story short, Elder Price and I drove all the way to the stake center to polish and wax our own car. It was really funny how it all played out, and with the picture I am sending, we made a picture for everyone in the district to remind them of how much fun our district activity was. :) I hope that made sense. :)
The next day was really good too. Hermano Crowder (1st counselor in our obispado, return missionary, served in Toronto, Canada Spanish speaking! (crazy!) and married a Spanish speaking lady and is the glue of our entire ward. Also, BYU fan! (yay!) he tells me a lot of what's going on in the BYU world :) ) We had dinner with his family, and they speak English (thank goodness!) and we had a SUPER good converstaion about the Book of Mormon and where it came from. Since becoming a missionary, my testimony has grown SO MUCH of the Book of Mormon. Elder Price and I listen to Elder Holland's talk about the BOM so many times, and every single time, it's better than before! I love the Book of Mormon so much! It's the evidence that God has given us that Joseph Smith really was a prophet and that this Church is the ONLY true church of God. I have also fell in love with old copies of the Book of Mormon :) We got some from someone a few days ago of the ones from the 60's (I think) with a big blue sky and Moroni on the front. I included a picture. :) We are so lucky to have the Book of Mormon in our lives!
We had a really good contact the next day (Thursday). We met a 18 - 19 year old kid named Rantau (Rontoo) p.s. (he's white). He is a foster kid that had been through 13 different families. And you can imagine how many different churches he went to. So, when he turned 18, he got adopted, and decided to become Agnostic (?) which means he doesn't deny the existance of a God, nor does he believe it. He was so interested in what we had to say, and we gave him a Book of Mormon! (thank goodness we had one in English!) But, he was going to go free running (parcour) and so he said we should come by his house another time and chat with him. It's too bad he's white, because we can't teach him :( But, he was so cool!
And yesterday, I saw Elder Nealy! YAY! Him and his trainer had an investigator that needed an interview. And his trainer, like mine, is District Leader. And District Leaders can't give interviews to their own investigators, and their Zone Leaders don't speak Spanish, so we had to go and do the interview. So, I got to see Elder Nealy! YAY!
I told you in my last email that Elder Daniel was in my zone! I see him quite often and it's really cool. And also, the person that had their locker next to mine in 11th grade is here too! And the other missionary from Heritage Tours is in that same English district, so I know half of that district haha.
I hope you have a super wonderful week!
Love, Elder Hunt
